The kings of this world will seek out your light!

As we near the day of observing the birth of our Lord and Savior, it occurred to me how the visitation of the Magi is really a Kingdom principle that applies to all of us. These wealthy and “wise men” traveled from a far-off land to seek out the origin of the bright light in the sky. Despite what most story books and nativity scenes portray, it is unknown as to how many came in search of the newborn King, but it was definitely not just three guys on camels. For such a long and perhaps dangerous journey, these kings would have been accompanied by a large entourage. First to help carry the treasures they would offer as gifts to Jesus, but also to ensure their own survival. Tents, weapons, food…what a sight it would have been! It is very humbling and puts me in a state of awe as I consider the time, cost, effort and sacrifices made by this royal assembly in making such a journey. And they did this all because of a “divine pull” to follow a star and meet the One, who unbeknownst to them, would become the Savior of the world.

In this same way, as believers, we are born into a royal priesthood and kingship through Christ (1 Peter 2:9, Hebrews 7:17) and His light and love shines through us (Matthew 5:14-16). There is a time coming where “kings” from all nations will seek out Christians, those who are rooted in God’s Word and filled with the Holy Spirit, for no other reason than a divine pull. They may not understand why, but they will be drawn to you. You will offer them wise counsel, leading them to the One True Light, and impart heavenly strategies that will reflect the heart of the Father, transforming their lives. Then, they will demonstrate their gratitude in many different forms, including tangible gifts. We are about to see the greatest shift in history, of good kings (leaders and people of influence) who are humble and open to receiving Godly wisdom. As well as a time when “evil kings” will be utterly confounded by the rise of these seemingly unknown “lights” through the world who are bringing swift and significant change to every corner of the earth.

I pray these words inspire you today to comprehend that you, because of the Light of God within you, have the capacity to impact lives beyond your human reasoning. There is something supernatural about how the light of God can bring people to their knees (Matthew 2:11). Never underestimate how your words of encouragement, nuggets of Godly advice, and your peaceful nature of walking in love and joy are shifting atmospheres and taking ground for God’s Kingdom, everywhere you go.

May you be filled afresh with the love and light of Jesus today and throughout this very holy season.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6
